When PokerStars introduced its Sunday Hundred Grand tournament last summer, it immediately became the largest non-freeroll tournament in history. With a maximum capacity of 15,000 entrants, it paid to 2,000 places, with the winner, “danolo83,” extending his bankroll by $18,900.
On Easter Sunday this past weekend, PokerStars upped the cut-off to 22,500 entrants, a ceiling which was reached in a timely manner. Everyone at the final table made at least $1,000 and the winner, “bubbaloo2,” won $20,520. It appears as if the Hundred Grand will continue to allow 22,500 entrants, as the lobby for the next one shows that cap as well. For an $11 buy-in, it’s a relatively low-risk way to make some nice money playing the great game of online poker. That is, if you have eight hours of free-time and mental focus to spare.
