PokerStars has launched a promotion targeting their players who can’t get enough of their sit-n-go tournaments. Battle of the Planets is the name of a multi-layered leader-board promotion that awards prizes to the top point earners in each of eight different divisions, based on buy-in amounts. Each division is represented by names of planets, and they are, from lowest buy-ins to largest: Mercury ($1-$2.99), Mars ($3-$4.99), Venus ($5-5.99), Earth ($10-$19.99), Neptune ($20-$49.99), Uranus ($50-$99.99), Saturn ($100-$299) and Jupiter ($300 and higher). |

When PokerStars introduced its Sunday Hundred Grand tournament last summer, it immediately became the largest non-freeroll tournament in history. With a maximum capacity of 15,000 entrants, it paid to 2,000 places, with the winner, “danolo83,” extending his bankroll by $18,900. |
